MEET RIEKO SAFIYYA

A vocalist, songwriter, and creative force, Rieko Safiyya crafts music that is as real as life itself. Hailing from Pittsburgh, PA, she has been singing since childhood, refining her artistry at Rogers CAPA Middle School and Pittsburgh CAPA High School before earning a Bachelor of Performing Arts in Vocal Performance from the University of the Arts.

Her music, shaped by lived experiences and personal truths, refuses to be anything but authentic. Since the release of her debut single “Day 3” in 2020, Rieko has continued to evolve, captivating audiences with her soulful storytelling. Her recent work, including “Virtue,” “Deeper,” and “Water Talks! Listen!”, has solidified her presence in the Philadelphia music scene, with her influence expanding into Baltimore and New York.

With performances in Baltimore, Philadelphia, and Pittsburgh, and opening sets for artists like Rico Nasty, Oshun, and Dianna Lopez, Rieko Safiyya is steadily carving out a space uniquely her own. As a SCALE Fellowship awardee, she is recognized for her artistic excellence and commitment to creative integrity.
